Costa del Sol - West:
This is an agricultural region of spectacular hills and fertile valleys. In pretty inland towns and villages like Coin and Guaro, small Spanish communities preserve much of their traditional history and, although the Costa Del Sol is only about thirty minutes' drive away, this truly is a different world.
The valleys are covered with orchards of orange, lemon, and fig trees and the little white villages in the mountains are surrounded by almond groves. It is a fabulous location for those seeking a quiet rural holiday, but with easy access to the coast and only a short drive from a major airport.
Costa del Sol - East:
To the east of Malaga, is a beautiful mountainous area of sunny hills and pretty villages, tucked away behind the coast.
Enchanting Andalucian villages such as Frigiliana and lovely towns like Nerja nestle here in the beautiful sunshine, where cobblestone streets wind through whitewashed houses covered with Spanish flowers, leading to lush squares with tropical greenery. The area richly deserves its reputation as one of the most picturesque in Andalucia. In the surrounding countryside you will find avocado, mango and cane plantations as well as olives, almonds and vineyards.
Costa del Sol - Climate:
The Costa del Sol has one of the most favourable climates in Europe, with an average of 320 sunny days a year, and whatever the season there is always a profusion of flowers and scented shrubs in full bloom.
Costa del Sol - Activities:
The Costa del Sol is home to some of Europe's best golf courses. It offers such a vast choice that the area has earned its nickname of the 'Costa del Golf.'
The inland countryside is stunning and many of the popular pastimes here include walking, trekking, fishing, horse-riding and bird-watching. The Costa del Sol is also home to world class tennis facilities, sailing, aqua parks and fabulous golden sandy beaches with a whole host of watersports.
