Espinaredo is a farming village situated only 6km from Infiesto, the capital of the council of Pilona, in the central-eastern area of the Principality of Asturias. You enter Espinaredo after a winding but lovely route through a valley next to the River Infierno, surrounded by mountains. Espinaredo is one of the most photographed and painted villages in the area and holds the largest concentration of horreos in western Asturias, some of them dating from the 16th century.
Espinaredo has a small central area near the church where a Mass service is held on Sundays. There are small houses, a few lanes, and a bridge over the river (from where trout can be caught during the fishing season) and a few bars that serve meals.

For a larger choice of restaurants and shops you can drive to nearby Infiesto where all kind of services and several supermarkets can be found. There is a weekly market on Monday mornings taking place in Infiesto selling fruit and vegetables to clothes, shoes and plants.
In Espinaredo there are only a few bars (one or two) that serve meals. There is a restaurant on the road leading to Espinaredo from Infiesto, quite close to the village, and another almost arriving to Infiesto on the same road.
In Infiesto there are a large number of bar/restaurants offering quite reasonably priced menus of the day (Menu del Dia) or a la Carte specialities.

Espinaredo is excellently placed for mountain excursions. Nearby are the recreational area of La Pesanca with barbecue tables and benches, and the Arboreto de Miera, a perfect place to enjoy nature at its best.

The nearest beach is situated 20km away and there is a public swimming-pool in Infiesto.

Local holidays and village fiestas in the area are worth going to and fun for the children since there is usually a fun fair at the larger ones. In Espinaredo the Virgen de las Nieves (5th Aug) is celebrated, as well as Santiago's Day (25th July).
