Caleta de Fuste is also affectionately known by the locals as El Castillo due to an old fort that stands on the sea front. The town of Caleta de Fuste is beautifully designed. There are many quiet and clean tree lined streets and the main street consists of a long street with many low rise building where you will find the majority of the bars and restaurants. The huge variety of shops, restaurants and bars here provide a mix of entertainment and international cuisine. Caleta de Fuste - Beaches:
Like most of the coastal holiday resorts on Fuerventura, Caleta de Fuste has large golden sandy beaches. The first beach is horse-shoe shaped and was designed as a safe environment for couples and families. It is ideal for those who just want to relax in the Canarian sunshine. The port along with the remains of the old castle are nestled at the far end of this beach in Caleta de Fuste. The second beach in Caleta de Fuste is ideal for swimming and wind surfing. Facilities here include an off-shore bar and restaurant accessed via a bridge and wind surfing lessons. Around the main beach are numerous beach cafes and bars, and south of the main beach are a number of little sandy lagoons.
