Los Canarios (Fuencaliente)- Overview:

Los Canarios, otherwise formerly known as Fuencaliente, is located on the very southern tip of La Palma, and is an area rich in volcanic activity, with a series of unusual black beaches.

It's original name name meaning 'hot spring', or 'warm fountain, Los Canarios is the site of seven volcanoes, the most recent of which being Teneguia, which erupted in 1971, and lasted 24 days. The areas surrounding Fuencaliente consist of pine forests, vineyards and banana plantations - a stark contrast to the barren ash craters of the volcanoes.
