Cala Romantica is situated within the municipality of Manacor, between Calas de Mallorca and Porto Cristo. It is an up-market residential development of mainly detached family holiday villas. Cala Romantica is somewhat larger than the neighbouring developments of Cala Anguila and Cala Mendia, with which it forms an unbroken line of development along the coast.
