Son Serra de la Marina is a new villa resort with no hotels. It is a favourite destination for the locals from Pollensa and Alcudia to escape to on the weekends, when they come to enjoy Sunday brunch in a beach restaurant with live music. There is only one small supermarket, otherwise the next bigger town, Can Picafort, has a wider range of facilities.

Son Serra de la Marina has a white sandy beach which can get quite busy during peak season. The beach is just under half a kilometre long and 130m wide. It is a safe environment with nice clean shallow waters and recommended for families. There is also a naturists' section.
