Son Servera - Overview:
The popular holiday destination of Son Servera is situated on Mallorca's quieter eastern coast, approximately 50km from the Son Sant Joan International airport at Palma. Son Servera is not a purpose built holiday resort, but a small traditional fishing village that has grown and adapted to cater for the island's tourist market with a few shops, a supermarket and pharmacy.
Son Servera - Beaches:
Costa de los Pinos is the tourist centre of Son Servera bay and forms one of the most picturesque spots on the island of Mallorca, 60km away from Majorca's capital city, Palma. The exquisite beach of Cala Millor is only a few kilometres away. Along the coast are several great beach resorts which offer good restaurants, terraced cafes and a lively night life.
Son Servera - Sporting activities and Golf:
For sporting enthusiasts there is SCUBA diving, underwater fishing and tennis readily available on the coast. The area is home to four golf courses and the Golf Club de Son Servera is one of the best known on the Island of Mallorca, situated right by the sea it is set in the most delightful and peaceful surroundings.
Pula Golf Club has a large driving-range, 2 putting-greens and short game and pitching area. Other golf clubs are Capdepera and Canyamel. Generally memberships and handicaps are not a requirement in Mallorca which makes it an ideal place for anyone to play.
Son Servera - Out and about:
The traditional Mallorcan town of Manacor lies to the south of Son Servera and has a Monday market offering locally grown produce such as pomegranate, oranges and olives. On the way from Manacor to Palma are some outlets which sell the famous Mallorcan imitation pearls and leather goods.
Driving south along the coast is the town of Porto Cristo, heading past wonderful beaches like Cala Morlanda and Playa de Sa Coma, which used to be a haven for pirates. This area is now known for its famous caves.
