Passports, Visas and Health
Passports & Visa Requirements:
It is the client's responsibility to ensure they are in possession of a valid passport and any visa necessary.
At the time of publication, UK citizens visiting Spain, Mallorca, Canary Islands, Portugal, Madeira and the Azores require a 10 year passport (valid for a minimum of six months at return date) and no visa, unless staying over 90 days.
All children and married women travelling alone must have their own passports unless the children are currently included on an adult's passport and are 15 years or younger. It is wise for newly married couples to make sure flight tickets are booked in the same names that appear on their passports at the time of departure.
All first-time applicants for a UK passport who are over the age of 16 will have to attend an interview. This means that the application process will take longer. If you are 16 years old or over and have not yet got a passport, our recommendation is that you should apply for one at least six weeks before the start of your holiday. The UK Passport Service has to confirm your identity before issuing your first passport and will ask you to attend an interview in order to do this.
We suggest that citizens from other countries outside the UK contact their own embassy for current details and regulations.
Health & Safety:
Vaccinations and Health: At the time of publication no vaccinations were normally required for visitors from the UK to Spain, Portugal, The Azores, Madeira, Porto Santo or the Canary Islands. Please consult your GP if in doubt. Spanish, Portuguese and Canarian health and safety standards may vary from those in the UK.
Our property owners/agents are asked to acknowledge they comply with any local rules or regulations that are applicable, but we point out these may differ from the UK standards or personal views of individual clients. We apologise for this but are unable to accept responsibility as these regulations are beyond our jurisdiction.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Due to changes in EU law, E111 forms are no longer valid and have been replaced by a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). Full details are available on the Department of Health's website (address below). You will need a card for each member of your party, including children. You can get an application form from the Post Office, or download one from the Department of Health's website at: www.dh.gov.uk/travellers or apply online at https://www.ehic.org.uk/Internet/home.do.
Please note: The EHIC card does not replace travel insurance and you are strongly advised to ensure that all members of your party are adequately insured for the duration of your holiday.
