Casa El Mirador de Chira (TRJ-1066)

A fabulous rural escape, with lots of space for relaxing. Situated in the small hamlet of Cercados de Arana, near to the Chira dam, this delightful modern house occupies an elevated position approximately 900 metres above sea level and affords breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, valley, mountains and pine forests. Set within a peaceful mountainous region, just south of the centre of Gran Canaria it is approximately 15km above San Bartolome de Tirajana. The local village has a small supermarket and a couple of typically Canarian bars.
Impeccably maintained by the very meticulous lady owner (who speaks no English) this modern country style house was constructed in 1980 and the accommodation is on two levels plus roof terrace. The property is accessed via white entry gates which open onto an extremely large paved terrace area where guests can park their car.
The interior accommodation has all the comforts of a home-away-from-home and the ground floor comprises a kitchen/breakfast room, well equipped with large fridge-freezer, electric oven, 4 ring gas hob, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, toaster and other culinary appliances such as blender, mixer etc. In this area is a small CD/cassette play, kitchen table and six chairs. In the sitting room there are two sofas, two armchairs, large TV, video, wall units and a small trolley. There is a shower room with WC, shower, hand basin and small washing machine.
The first floor is reached via a staircase (please note lack of full banisters here). On this floor is a vestibule/foyer decorated with two sofas off which are the bedrooms and bathroom. There is also a balcony with views of the mountains. Bedroom one has a double bed, and small balcony with views, bedroom 2 has a double bed and balcony with view of swimming pool, bedroom 3 has twin beds and bedroom 4 a single bed. The very spacious bathroom has corner bath/shower, hand basin, WC and bidet.
Outside at the front of the property is a terrace area with a small kidney-shaped swimming pool (approx. 4.50m x 2.90 at the widest end) with adjacent cold shower, 6 sun-loungers, a built-in barbecue and a covered patio just outside the kitchen door with large table and six chairs for eating al fresco. From this large terrace are beautiful views of the area. At the back of the property a door leads onto a rear terrace with table and four chairs, off which are steps down to a further sun bathing area/terrace. There is also access to this additional terrace from the main gates.
A further flight of steps take you up to the roof terrace which is mainly used for drying washing but can of course be used for sun bathing if required although there are no sun-loungers or tables here. NB: The property would not be suitable for clients with walking difficulties of any kind.

Location

The municipality of Tirajanas has a surface area of 6,000 square kilometres, in the shape of a geographical wedge, from the central peaks of the island in la Sepultura del Gigante to the southeast coast of Gran Canaria (Pozo Izquierdo and Bahia de Formas). Historically, the municipality has always been divided into two distinct areas: the interior, where the capital Santa Lucia is located, and the coast, with the three main settlements of the municipality (Vecindario, Sardina del Sur and El Doctoral). The interior is predominantly an agricultural area which forms a large oasis in the centre of the rocky slopes of la Caldera de Tirajana, made up of several rural settlements (El Ingenio, Rosiana, La Sorrueda, etc.) with beautiful palm groves and areas of crops.
