El Marques Palace Apartments, 1 Bedroom (GIG-1253)

A high standard of accommodation in a fabulous resort. This modern building was completed in the year 2000 and there are only 64 apartments in total. The accommodation at this impressive complex has been designed and furnished to a high standard. It is centrally located with easy access to the village of Puerto Santiago and is just a 5 minutes walk into Los Gigantes.
The surrounding area has a relaxed lifestyle with friendly locals and a totally different atmosphere to other ultra-busy resorts, giving you the opportunity to escape from the hustle and bustle.
Here you can spend the day relaxing and sunbathing by one of the two heated swimming pools or, for those who prefer a little more activity, play squash, tennis or bowls or pump iron in the gym.
Sporting enthusiasts prepared to travel a little further afield can enjoy a round of golf on glorious courses, hiking in the hills or trekking down the twisting coastal path to Masca Bay. Boat trips from Los Gigantes' harbour take you out to sea to watch the whales and dolphins at play.
For the more adventurous there are excursions to majestic Mount Teide in the centre of the island or trips to the neighbouring island of La Gomera.
During the evening you can enjoy live entertainment in one of the restaurants at either El Marques Palace or El Marques (next door), or amble into town where there is a whole host of bars and restaurants. Here you can sample traditional Spanish fayre while watching a romantic sunset over the neighbouring island of La Gomera, or enjoy sophisticated cuisine in one of the village restaurants. If you prefer the simple life there is a superb local fish and chip shop.
There is a supermarket within walking distance which sells delicious local delicacies and groceries to cater for British tastes. A small bakery across the road from El Marques Palace sells hot bread and long rolls (panos) from early in the morning.
El Marques is set in an elevated position with a stroll down the sweeping hill into the village of Los Gigantes, however those with walking difficulties may prefer to take a taxi. Alternatively, there is a dramatic walk along the rugged coast which takes you into the heart of the village.
All of the air-conditioned apartments are fully furnished and particularly well equipped with a satellite TV and video, fridge/freezer, oven/hob and microwave. There is a reception and a lift to all floors.

Location

Los Gigantes is dominated by the incredible blue-grey cliffs which tower above the resort, giving the village its name - 'The Giants' - and providing a spectacular backdrop. Here you can while away the day soaking up the sun or enjoy the facilities of the marina, including trips to see the resident dolphins, self-drive boat hire or SCUBA diving. The village has a wide range of shops, first class restaurants and attractive sea-front cafe bars. Built around the harbour, where luxury yachts float next to fishing boats, Los Gigantes also boasts a lovely beach lapped by clear blue seas.
