Spain Beaches - Cantabria - Overview:
The Coast of Cantabria begins in the west at medieval Santillana del Mar. A journey along the coast takes in the whitewashed fishing villages and pretty beaches of Comillas and San Vicente de la Barquera; before continuing onto the bay of Santander. This stretch of coastline is a succession of cliffs interspersed with wonderful golden sandy beaches.

Sardinero:
Sardinero is a very popular beach in Santander. Opposite this beach is the lighthouse of the Mauro Island, to the right Concha Beach and Magadelana Peninsula, and behind is Santander's famous Racing Stadium, El Sardinero. Well served with a host of facilities Playa Sardinero has a wide promenade that runs the length of the beaches in the area with a park nestled between the beach and the Concha.
Comillas:
This picturesque sandy beach is in the village of Comillas. The town centre lies a littler farther back away from the beach and there is a large car-park with reserved disabled parking spaces and wheelchair ramps that lead right to the beach. The fishing port lies at one end of the beach and there is a good choice of bars and restaurants serving delicious seafood.
Laredo:
This beach, in the tourist town of Laredo, is a popular choice for windsurfing and surfing. There is a long promenade that goes up to the Puntal del Pasaje - an area popular with naturists. There is a lifeguard and Laredo beach is well served by a host of facilities.
