Spain Beaches - Costa Tropical de Granada - Overview:

Although not as famous as the neighbouring Costa del Sol beaches to the west, the Costa Tropical of Granada is a particularly picturesque, largely unspoilt coastal area where it is easy to escape from the crowds and enjoy a relaxing beach holiday. The mountains run right down to the sea and the coastline is made up of a series of coves and promontories.

Spain Beaches - Costa Tropical de Granada - Resorts:

Almunecar:
Mild winters and long hot summers means the seafront is lively throughout the year. Puerta del Mar Beach is the most popular beach here. During the winter months you can sunbathe on the beach in the morning and then ski on the slopes of the Sierra Nevada in the afternoon.

Salobrena:
Salobrena has 8km of coastline, about half of which is made up of the popular beaches of La Guardia, El Penon, La Charca and Punta del Rio. All these beaches are within easy reach of the town and attract a large number of summer visitors.

Motril:
Motril enjoys a superb sub-tropical microclimate and here you can simply sunbathe amid natural surroundings, enjoy fresh seafood or go people watching down at the marina or, for the more adventurous, paraglide off a mountain and land on the beach.

La Herradura:
La Herradura has a 19km stretch of coastline where visitors can choose from a large variety of beaches and small coves, ranging from fine sand to shingle. Watersports are very popular with a host of courses and array of equipment available for hire.
